Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Renjam Rentals. By accessing or using our website  renjamrentals.com or renting a vehicle from us, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before making a reservation or using our services.

1. Definitions

  • "We," "our," or "us" refers to Renjam Rentals, the car rental service provider.
  • "You" or "your" refers to the customer, hirer or user of our services and any authorised drivers.
  • "Vehicle" refers to any car rented through our service.

2. Eligibility

To rent a vehicle, you must:

  • Be at least twenty-five (25) years old but no older than eighty (80) years old.
  • Any driver between the ages if seventy-five (75) years old and eighty (80) years old must produce a certificate of fitness from a medical practitioner. 
  • Hold a valid driver’s license for at least two (2) years.
  • Provide a valid credit or debit card.
  • To drive in Barbados, it is mandatory to obtain a Barbados driving permit. These may be purchased from our representative on delivery at a cost of $5 US each. These permits are valid for two months.

We reserve the right to deny rental services if these conditions are not met.

3. Reservation and Payment

  • Reservations are confirmed upon receipt of payment, except where expressly agreed.
  • Payment methods include Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover Credit Cards. We also accept payment in cash (US, Canadian, Sterling and Euros). A pre-authorisation on a credit card is required where payment is made in cash.
  • All prices are exclusive of applicable taxes and fees, as stated at the time of booking.
  • Requests for extension of the hire should be made 24 hours ahead of the return date, while we make every effort to allow extensions they are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.

4. Reservation Details

  • Our vehicle hire rates may vary from season to season. Our rates are determined by supply, demand and market conditions. Rates quoted are only guaranteed at the time they are quoted.
  • Vehicle rental works on a 24 hour basis – e.g. if you hire a vehicle at 11 a.m. and return it at 11 a.m. the next day, this would be considered a one day rental. Extra charges will be apply if the vehicle is returned late.
  • Vehicles are NOT delivered with a full tank of petrol. Client should return the vehicle with a similar level as delivered.

5. Cancellations and Refunds

  • Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled pickup time.
  • Refunds for cancellations are subject to a 50% cancellation fee.
  • No-shows or late cancellations will not be eligible for a refund.

6. Vehicle Use

You agree to the following terms regarding vehicle use:

  • Use the vehicle for personal and lawful purposes only.
  • Do not allow unauthorized individuals to drive the vehicle. An authorised driver is the renter and any additional person who appears at the time of rental and signs the rental agreement. Extra drivers can be added at a cost. 
  • Return the vehicle in the same condition as it was received, including fuel level, cleanliness, and accessories.
  • Report any damage or accidents immediately to us and follow legal reporting obligations.
  • Use in accordance with the Road Traffic Act Cap 295 of the laws of Barbados. 

Prohibited uses include but are not limited to:

  • Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Participating in illegal activities.
  • Using the vehicle in races, competitions, or off-road driving.
  • Using the vehicle for commercial transport services. 
  • Carrying excess persons above the vehicle manufacturer stated number of seats.  

7. Insurance and Liability

  • Vehicles are insured with third-party coverage. Details can be provided, at our discretion if considered necessary.
  • You are responsible for any damages, fines, or penalties incurred during the rental period unless covered by insurance.
  • Additional insurance options may be purchased at the time of booking.

8. Key/Tyre Policy

The loss or non-return of keys will be subject to a replacement cost. Flat tyres are repaired free of charge, but if a tyre or rim has been damaged beyond repair, you will be charged for the cost of replacement. 

Key replacement and Tyre damage is not covered by our Excess Waiver.

9. Late Returns

  • Vehicles must be returned by the agreed time and date.
  • Late returns may result in additional charges at the rate specified in your rental agreement.

10. Privacy

Your use of our services is subject to our Privacy Policy on renjamrentals.com, which outlines how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

11. Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for:

  • Losses or damages caused by delays, accidents, or mechanical failures beyond our control.
  • Personal belongings left in the vehicle.

Our maximum liability is limited to the rental fees paid for the affected reservation.

12. Modifications and Termination

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify or discontinue services without prior notice.
  • Refuse service to anyone who violates these terms or behaves inappropriately.

13. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Barbados. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Barbados.
